autumn is near and you
are falling, fallen
you are blowing away from me
like dust

i have shaken myself
out of your barbed wire grip
and oh,
i am cut to pieces

memories sing like sirens
as you pour from my pores,
and i will not cry,
i will not let you change me

i'm ripping you from my skin
like hot wax and plasters
and you do not even hurt
not anymore
the title is important for this piece, i think

The imagery in this is beautiful and heartbreaking. And I agree with your comment about the title, because it completely changes the meaning of the piece for me.

"falling, fallen" what an abrupt way to describe my time as a teenage lover.

I agree that the title is important for this. I believe you are saying that even though you are going to rip them away from your skin, get rid of them, you still love them. Kind of like a tough love scenario. I hope i am getting that right, Ella, my dear. If not, I apologize for the misinterpretation. :)

Wow, this is great! I love how the intensity of the imagery and language builds across all four stanzas before coming to a relaxed, almost apathetic halt.
